22 February 2025 @ 4:51 am

Counterpoint conducted a market analysis of the Chinese foldable smartphone market and recorded steady growth in 2024. Even though foldables represent only 3% of all smartphone sales in the country, the 27% growth compared to 2023 is pretty impressive. China is also the most competitive foldable market, as many manufacturers sell their foldables only there. Even so, Huawei solidified its first place as more than half of sales in China were Huawei phones. The Huawei Mate X5 and Mate X6 are the best-sellers in the book-type foldables category while the Pocket 2 and Nova Flip are the most...

It's also repeatedly been said to be very thin, and today a new rumor out of China narrows down the range we can expect. Huawei Mate XT Ultimate in for review

21 February 2025 @ 5:23 pm

We've had a few run-ins with the tri-folding Huawei Mate XT Ultimate but finally arrived at the office and we can now do a proper review on it. The unit's here just a few days after it became a globally available phone - yes, you can buy one, in theory, but it's expensive at €3,500 and it's also harder to find than you'd expect. In the box, you'll find the Mate XT itself, a case for the main rear panel (it also slightly covers the exposed part of the curved display), a USB cable, and Huawei's 66W charger. Unboxing the Mate XT When folded, the Mate XT can fool you into...
