CR: vivo was the boss in the Chinese market in 2024, Huawei ruled Q4

Last week Canalys released its 2024 smartphone shipment numbers for China, and today Counterpoint Research (CR) has done the same. The numbers are quite different, though. While vivo led with a 17.8% market share for the year, and Huawei was in second place with 16.3%, the third place in CR's report is occupied by Xiaomi with 15.7% of the pie, not Apple. Apple is fourth with 15.5%, followed by Honor with 15% and Oppo with 14.3%. Xiaomi wasn't even in Canalys' Top 5, so we're not sure what's going on here. Good Lock, the app you can use to customize Samsung smartphones even more than the Settings menu usually allows, is getting a new coat of paint just in time for the official launch of One UI 7 alongside the Galaxy S25 family tomorrow. Good Lock's redesign is in line with One UI 7's redesign, unsurprisingly, and it arrives with version 3.0.10.1 of the app. Good Lock now has a list view, and a larger bottom tab area with three icons. Xiaomi's 14 Ultra was unveiled in China last February, only a few short days before making its global debut at MWC in Barcelona. Last month, we saw leaked images of the alleged iPhone 17 Pro with a camera visor instead of the traditional square cutout on the back. Google finds fix for broken back gesture on older Pixels

Google rolled out Android 15 to its Pixel phones in October. While it introduced new features, users began to notice a strange bug: an inward swipe from the right side did not activate the back gesture as intended.
